Why did Congress want to revise the Articles of Confederation? Wanted congress to have power to regulate the trade and also be able to tax.
Describe the characteristics of the Constitutional Convention: held in May, 1787 in Philly. Delegates were allowed to speak freely.
Describe the VA Plan: proposed my Madison and gave power to tax and trade.
Describe the New Jersey Plan: favored by most small states and also gave the power to tax and trade
Describe the Connecticut Compromise: this compromise ended stalemate over VA and NJ plans between big and small states
Describe the 3/5 compromise: southern states were worried because the northern states had more free people and could end up shutting down slavery
